Purchasing Support for Zero-Emission Vehicles

The Environmental Investment Center supports the purchase of zero-emission vehicles.

Support is provided for the purchase of new fully electric (including hydrogen fuel cell) passenger cars and vans (category M1 and N1) and electric cargo bikes, either acquired with a sales contract or put into use with a leasing contract.

The vehicle must be new, purchased and received 06.02.2023 the earliest and, in the case of a car, first registered in the name of the grant applicant in the register of the Transport Agency. Support can be requested within two months of taking possession of the vehicle. Applications can be submitted from 27.02.2023.

Requirements for the car

• The car must be fully electric, i.e. a vehicle powered by electricity only. The purchase of hybrid cars and other cars that use fossil fuels is not supported.

• The car must be new at the time of purchase. The car must have been purchased and taken into account (primary registration) and registered in the name of the applicant for the subsidy (responsible user in the case of leasing) after the regulation on grant of subsidy entered into force on 06.02.2023. The subsidy can be applied for within two months after the registration of the vehicle.

• The maximum speed of the car must be greater than 60 km/h.

• The car has at least a two-year warranty or an equivalent warranty expressed in mileage.

• The cost of an M1 category vehicle may not exceed 60,000 euros (without VAT) and the cost of an N1 category vehicle may not exceed 80,000 euros (without VAT). There is no price limit for a hydrogen vehicle.

• The car must be purchased from a compliant seller, and in the case of leasing, the lessor must comply with the requirements. The subsidy is 4,000 euros for an electric car NB! Income tax is deducted from the subsidy amount of 5,000 euros intended for private individuals, so the subsidy amount for them is also 4,000 euros.

• Subsidy for a car purchased through leasing is paid directly to the leasing company. The initial lease payment must be at least 4,000 euros and the duration of the contract at least 4 years.

*The grant application can be submitted from 27.02.2023 in the E-toetus environment *The application must be submitted to KIK within two months after the purchase of the vehicle and registration at the Transport Office. *The subsidy is paid out if a vehicle that meets the requirements of the regulation has been acquired and the beneficiary and the application meet the requirement.
